I saw a ten year old smoking. He was sitting on a highway divider. He jumped out into the highway right in front of our car and my driver cursed at him in Turkish and honked is horn. He swerved around the kid (now making an obscene gesture — his thumb between his middle and ring fingers in a fist) onto the shoulder and then sharply back onto the road before we got on the bridge across the Bosporus."
