Workers went on strike in major Turkish cities on Wednesday to demand better work conditions and labor rights, local media reported.
Four major labor unions held protests in the Turkish capital Ankara, northern city Samsun and southeastern cities Adana and Diyarbakir to draw attention to the situation of workers of the former state tobacco and liquor company Tekel, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported."
