ANKARA, Turkey -- Turkish police have used pepper spray and water cannons at a park in Ankara to disperse hundreds of workers protesting layoffs from a state company.
Television footage shows several people throwing themselves on the ground while others jumped into a pool in cold weather Thursday after the pepper spray was used at the unauthorized protest."
