ANKARA, Turkey - Turkey's top court debated Friday whether to ban a Kurdish party on charges it's backing Kurdish guerrillas.
The 11-member Constitutional Court was evaluating a demand by Turkey's chief prosecutor to shut down the Democratic Society Party, or DTP, for alleged ties to the rebel Kurdistan Workers' Party, which has fought the Turkish state since 1984. The court has banned several of the DTP's predecessors on similar grounds."
