TODAY'S ZAMAN- Germany is Turkey’s top export destination and its number two source of imports. In 2009, the total foreign trade volume between Turkey and Germany will exceed $20 million. There are around 3 million Turks in Germany. While in 2006 there were 2,100 German companies operating in Turkey, this figure exceeded 4,000 in 2009."
