"EU expresses concern about Turkey's DTP ban
The European Union has voiced concern over the Turkish Constitutional Court’s decision to close the pro-Kurdish Democratic Society Party, or DTP, after warning that the ban would sabotage the government’s recent Kurdish initiative.
The Swedish presidency of the EU said it was concerned about the DTP's closure in a written statement hours after the verdict, urging reforms to align Turkish laws on political parties with EU norms. The presidency said the decision would violate Kurdish rights and that it would be closely following the developments on the issue."
