Brussels - Cyprus on Tuesday demanded a freeze on Turkey's European Union accession talks because of its blockade of Cypriot vessels, throwing a meeting of EU foreign ministers into disarray, diplomats in Brussels said. EU member states are keen to enlist Turkey's support to end the decades-old division of Cyprus, and are wary of antagonizing Ankara. But Cyprus wants Turkey to open its ports to Cypriot ships and aircraft, and is pushing the EU to take a hard line on the issue."
