"Turkish side has bridging propsoals on governance

GREEK AND Turkish Cypriot presidential candidates will stand for election on the same ticket if Turkish Cypriot bridging proposals on governance put forward at last Thursday’s meeting between president Demetris Christofias and Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat are accepted, according to a leaked document seen by the Cyprus Mail yesterday.
The document, titled ‘The Turkish Cypriot Side’s Proposal for Governance’, calls for a presidency in which a Greek and Turkish Cypriot take office together and rotate the roles of the president and vice president according to a time period that has yet to be agreed upon. According to Turkish Cypriot sources, a system of rotational presidency has already been accepted in principal by both sides."
