Nobody knows what’s inside the Kurdish initiative. But one of the most basic elements of this package with solid measures should be education in Kurdish.
The frame of education in Kurdish is defined by the Constitution and by international provisions. The Constitution brings liability to the state for teaching Turkish. The irrevocable third article in the Constitution states that the official language of the state is Turkish. The last paragraph of Article 42 reads, “No language other than Turkish shall be taught as a mother tongue to Turkish citizens at any institutions of training or education.” Article 42 results in two things:"
