Turkey's military says a militia organization set up to help fight Kurdish rebels should not be blamed for an attack on an engagement ceremony in which 44 people were killed.
Many in Turkey called for the abolition of the government-paid militia after authorities said some of the assailants were members and used state-supplied weapons."
