Figures collected by the Turkish Land Registry Directorate show that much of Turkey’s coastal property has been purchased by around 86,000 foreign buyers spanning 85 countries. The most popular areas are Antalya, Mugla, Aydin and Istanbul, with Antalya being the most popular area; over 36,000 foreign investors have purchased property in what has become Turkey’s fastest growing region. Mugla follows in second place with 14,700 foreign nationals owning property here. In Aydin the figure is 10,216 and in Istanbul 9,481."
