"UN envoy sees real progress in Cyprus peace talks

NICOSIA, Cyprus—The leaders of Cyprus' two rival communities are making 'real progress' at reunification talks after months of complex negotiations, U.N. envoy Alexander Downer said Friday.
Downer said 'more has been agreed between the two parties and written down' than at any other peace talks since 1974, when Turkey invaded the island and it divided along ethnic lines. The invasion followed a coup by supporters of union with Greece."
