UBP on Ergenekon
Claims made by Prime Minister Soyer on a television programme that US$20 million was given to UBP by the General President of Turk Metal Industry was an ugly and false allegation according to UBP leaders. Soyer, who ruined his party, hopes to achieve something with this mudslinging policy but he will get nothing. The UBP trusts Turkish Cypriot citizens. It has been confirmed by all public opinion polls that we are moving towards taking power, at least 20 points ahead of CTP. Soyer’s government which has ruined our economy and is considered a failure by 70% of Turkish Cypriots hopes to achieve something with the Ergenekon scandal as a last resort. As we have announced in the beginning, UBP has no connections with any illegal activity."
