"Fryer: Turkey European membership win-win situation
Leading British columnist Jonathon Fryer has said although challenges lie ahead, Turkey’s EU membership would be beneficial for all involved.
On the eve of the 10-year anniversary of Turkey’s membership application, Fryer claimed that the Turkish population would greatly benefit from potential membership. He noted that democratic principles and human rights would be improved, noting that the eastern regions had most to gain from the improved political situation and from the economic packages that Europe can offer.
In an article published in the last week Fryer asserted that the forces within Europe who are adverse to Turkey membership fail to realise the enormous rpolitical and economic return that it would bring."
