İZMİR - Beside its clear İzmir victory, the Republican People’s Party, or CHP, won in the coastal provinces of Antalya, Muğla, Aydın and Mersin. In Muğla, CHP candidate Osman Gürün won the election with 46 percent, while the CHP’s candidate in Aydın, Özlem Çerçioğlu, won 26.3 percent of the vote. In Mersin, too, the CHP protected its stronghold as candidate Macit Özcan won with 30.99 percent."
