Turkish markets tumbled on Friday as traders returned from the three-day public holiday marking the end of Ramadan and responded with dismay to the latest twists in the global financial crisis.
Istanbul’s main share index, the ISE National 100, fell more than 6 per cent in the morning session and closed the day down 4.2 percent at 34,553. It was the biggest drop in three weeks."
