"Turkey close to energy deal with Turkmenistan

Turkey is close to finalizing an agreement with Turkmenistan to operate a gas field near the country's capital city, Ashgabat, as it seeks to diversify its natural gas imports, Turkish TV channel NTVMSNBC reported.Turkish state-owned Petroleum Corporation has prepared a Memorandum of Understanding which has been sent to the Turkmen government, the report said, adding that geological work would start soon.Turkey's Energy Minister had paid a visit to Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan last week to hold energy talks."
