The eighth-annual European Day of Jewish Culture offered a glimpse of Jewish music, food and celebrations in the Galata area of Istanbul, the historic home of the city's Jews. Participants celebrated Turkey's history as a historic refuge for the Jews, while grappling with the future of a community that has dwindled from 90,000 to 20,000."
