"Turkey's first ballet competition nears finals

A group of 36 dancers have progressed to the semifinals in the Istanbul International Ballet Competition, Turkey's first-ever ballet competition.
Organized by the State Opera and Ballet as part of the 2010 European Cultural Capital events, the competition will take place between Sept. 8 and 13 at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall. A panel of 11 judges, which includes world known Russian dancer Maya Plisetskaya, will choose the winners of the competition. "
