A floral inventory of Turkey that includes three times as many plant species than in Europe will be recorded in Turkish for the first time.
A team led by botanist Tuna Ekim has started working on the project, said Professor Şinasi Yıldırımlı of Hacettepe University's biology department. He said the study is expected to be completed by the year 2023, marking the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. The first meetings on the project were recently held in the provinces of Bolu and Kayseri. "
