The Garanti Contemporary Art Centre and the Garanti Gallery are to be renovated and converted into a multi-functional culture centre. The 116-year old building in Istanbul, Turkey is one of several historic buildings being redesigned as part of a huge renovation programme as Istanbul prepares to be the European Capital of Culture in 2010. The aim is to make Istanbul a city of art for 2010."
