Turkish commission passes pensions reform

"Turkish commission passes pensions reform

ANKARA, March 7 (Reuters) - Turkish parliament's planning and budget commission approved late on Thursday a key social security reform which raises retirement ages in a bid to lower a ballooning deficit.
Passage of the reform is a condition set by the International Monetary Fund before it approves a $1.3 billion new loan tranche under Turkey's $10 billion standby deal.
The main parliamentary assembly is expected to start talks on the reform soon though no timetable has been set. Parliament is expected to approve the bill in late March."
