TURKEY'S military incursion into the Kurdish region of northern Iraq, which ended last week, was predictable and another consequence of maladroit American maneuvering in the Middle East.
The NATO ally sent 10,000 troops into Iraq on Feb. 21 in response to violent actions carried out by armed militants of the Kurdistan Workers Party, often called PKK, inside neighboring Turkey."
