ANKARA (AFP) — Iraqi President Jalal Talabani will travel to Ankara Friday for a two-day visit, a week after Turkish forces ended a military offensive against Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq, officials said Thursday.
It will be the first time that Talabani, a Kurd, has visited Ankara as head of state. But there are tensions over Turkish accusations that Iraqi Kurds tolerate and aid the separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has long taken refuge in northern Iraq."
