Turkey has taken a key step towards allowing women students to wear the Muslim headscarf at university. Parliament has voted in a first round to change the constitution to lift the current ban. Pledging to uphold secularism, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says he wants to allow the headscarf on campus to boost religious and personal freedom."
