"Turkey gender gap plunges Saturday, November 10, 2007
When compared with women around the world, Turkey's women are at a disadvantage on several fronts when it comes to gender equality, according to the World Economic Forum's 2007 Global Gender Gap index. The report released on Thursday ranked Turkey 121 out of 128 countries. Turkey's rank slipped from 105 last year, and only ranked better than Morocco, Benin, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Pakistan, Chad and Yemen. At the top of the index Sweden, Norway and Finland held their lead."
