He could not imagine that an incident over an islet could lead to a war between Turkey and Greece and it was Tansu Çiller, then Turkey's prime minister, who had called him and informed him about the incident. Bill Clinton looking fitter than ever at 61, passed by Athens on Saturday as part of his promotion tour for his new book “Giving”. This was his second visit and the reception he received from his audience was definitely more friendly. With the war raging in Yugoslavia, his first visit nine years ago in 1999 as the 42nd American president had been marred by extensive anti-American demonstrations in Athens and Salonica.This time his visit was short, calm and constructive. "
