A day after the Turkish elections the markets can rest easily. The ruling Justice and Development or AK party has been returned to power with a resounding victory. According to Turkish election officials the numbers look like this: Around 47 percent of the vote went to the AK party: 20 to 21 percent for the Republican People's party (CHP) and around 14.3 percent for the right wing Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). This is in addition to 28 independent candidates being elected among them representing the Kurdish minorities in the country."
