The Turkish government has raised $1.85 billion through a public share offering for 25% of the state bank Halkbank, the government said yesterday. At a time of concern over the possible effects of the political crisis on the economy, the sale indicates that there has not yet been any negative impact. However, much depends on how deep or prolonged the crisis becomes."
