"Turkey's Gul says to run for presidency if president elected by people

Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said Friday that he would run for the presidency if the president is elected by people, semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.
The Turkish parliament approved Thursday a constitutional amendment package which would allow the election of the president by people, reducing president's term from seven years to five with the chance to run for a second five-year term."
