"Business association chief calls for quotas for women

"Although women form half of the population they are not equally represented in the Turkish political scene. The upcoming elections will show how sincere political parties are in campaigning for and ensuring equally representation [of women] in Parliament," said Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ, president of the Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (TÜSİAD) yesterday, calling for special quotas for women at national and local politics."
