Some 1 million Israelis had been expected to crowd into Terminal 3 of Ben-Gurion Airport during the vacation months of July and August, but that has not happened.
The war, which means special call-up orders for reserve duty for some and a desire to stay close to home and family for others, together with the warnings about anti-Israeli terror in Sinai and Turkey and the sudden influx of Lebanese refugees to Cyprus all conspired to change the holiday patterns for Israelis this summer.
