Turkey took a cautious stance on Sunday regarding a possible major contribution to the Lebanese peacekeeping force and stressed that it would be only possible after the achievement of the agreed cease-fire.
'We aren't in a position to say a clear yes or no for the time being,' Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul told reporters on Sunday. He said that 'there should be proper conditions' for such a decision, referring to the implementation of the cease-fire agreement and broader political support for the mission of the peacekeeping force."
