Orchestras usually prefer to perform baroque, classical and romantic era pieces. They find it risky to include contemporary pieces in their repertoires regarding both the difficulty of performing a new piece and the taste of the audience. However, small ensembles formed on purpose to perform new compositions cannot be included in this generalization. Some new compositions are put aside after being performed once because the orchestra refrains from performing it for a second time or to include it in their permanent repertoire. This situation can also be seen in Europe, the motherland of polyphonic music. "
