The leaders of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan will today be officially inaugurating the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, a 1,760-kilometer-long lifeline that, while on the one hand will make this country an energy conduit between the East and the West, at the same time heralds the dawn of a new and promising era in Eurasia."
