ANKARA - Turkish Daily News
Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül said yesterday that Iraq's unity should be preserved as the country is going through a period of political transition in the aftermath of a U.S.-led war that toppled the Saddam Hussein regime.
What is important is to ensure that Iraq's territorial integrity and political unity will not be endangered , Gül told reporters in Tehran when asked about the future of Iraq. He said it is the Iraqis who will have to decide the kind of a political system the country should have."
