"There are 10,769 foreign companies in Turkey

The Treasury Undersecretariat issued the “Direct Foreign Investment Data Bulletin” for May. The bulletin was prepared by considering the number of the affiliates in the current companies and branches, the foreign capital companies set up in Turkey, while these data contribute to the interpretation of the direct foreign investments which have arrived in Turkey until the end of May 2006.
According to the data, after the Direct Foreign Investments Law numbered 4875 went into effect on June 17, 2003, the number of the companies rapidly increased and the number of the foreign capital companies set up between June 17, 2003, and May 31, 2005, constitutes 125.7 percent of the total companies established in the previous years."
