The total bank deposits of the Turkish citizens at the foreign banks abroad exceeded USD 18 billion last year.
According to the data of the Central Bank, the total deposits of the Turkish citizens at the banks in foreign countries which were USD 14 billion in 2004 rose by USD 4.294 billion and reached USD 18.294 billion in 2005. The information regarding the deposits of the Turkish citizens are compiled by the Central Bank via the statistics of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS)."
