ISTANBUL, Turkey (AP) - Turkey will miss its 2006 inflation target of 5 percent, the economy minister said Tuesday.
Ali Babacan, who is also Turkey's negotiator for European Union accession, said worldwide market volatility had an especially large impact on Turkey in the past two months, and the government was now aiming to keep inflation in the single digits."
