Theater critic Emre Erdem, who led Turkey's delegation at the 31st UNESCO-International Theater Institute (ITI) World Congress in Manila on May 22-29, was named vice chairman of the UNESCO Theater Education Committee with the consensus of all participating countries.
Erdem has represented Turkey at numerous international theater festivals, meetings and seminars in Brussels, Bonn, Dusseldorf, Hanover, Moscow, Tokyo, Paris, Kyoto and Tel Aviv.
Thanks to a proposal put forward by Erdem and Greek ITI Chairman Christina Babou Pagourelli, a Multi-Cultural Theater Get-Together will be held in Istanbul and Athens and will be attended by internationally acclaimed playwrights, critics, actors and directors. "
