Turkish Cyprus European Union Association Chairman Ali Erel informed that there is no obstacle for Turkish Cyprus to employ the EU currency, Euros (€), in the Turkish side of the island.

Evaluating the recent depreciation of the Turkish liras, Erel said that it would be wiser to use Euros as the official currency instead of Turkish liras.

'Depreciation of Turkish liras would lead to an additional €50 million budget deficit in Turkish Cyprus,' Erel added."
