It is neither the biased stance taken by certain European Union members, nor the role they have attributed to the Greek Cypriot administration that hurts. What actually makes Turks more uncomfortable is being treated as if we are fools on issues like Cyprus. The justifications served up by the EU that ordinary Turks are expected to swallow are so insincere that they have started to strengthen the Turkish people's overall pessimistic perceptions. In fact, herein lurks the real and rapidly growing danger!"
