"ISRAEL: VISITING TURKISH PRESIDENT WANTS 'ROAD MAP' BACK ON TRACK

Jerusalem, 7 June (AKI) - President Ahmet Necdet Sezer of Turkey - one of the few Muslim countries to have friendly relations with Israel - met his Israeli counterpart Moshe Katsav Wednesday and called on the Jewish state to conduct negotiations with the Palestinians based on the road map peace plan.

Sezer arrived on Tuesday for what observers say is a show of Turkey's diplomatic closeness with Israel, a situation that was briefly jeopardised by the visit of a Hamas delegation to Turkey in February."
