"Foreign currencies strengthening against the Turkish lira
Foreign market concern over inflation rates and a new possible raise in interest rates by the US Federal Reserve have affected Turkish markets. The dollar began the day trading at 1.6200 YTL, with the Euro at 2,0300 YTL. Meanwhile, the Istanbul Stock Exchange slipped below 34,500 points after the opening of initial trading.
Speculation over whether or not the Central Bank in Ankara will interfere with the rise of foreign currency against the Turkish lira is continuing."
