Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the European Union's (EU) Commission, told the BBC Thursday that, “Turkey’s membership will be problematic for both the EU and Turkey as Turkey is culturally different from mainstream Europe”.
Barroso defended his explanations, saying they should have been perceived positively."
