The claims about retired Israeli soldiers training peshmerga troops in northern Iraq and providing them with equipment increased the tension between Turkey and Israel relations. Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth wrote Israeli Foreign Ministry authorities are making efforts to prevent damage in bilateral relations."
