Ankara this week rebuffed a European Union call for allowing Greek Cyprus' membership in international organizations by blocking it from a group mentioned specifically by the bloc.
Turkey vetoed the Greek Cypriot administration's application to become a member of the international Wassenaar Arrangement on Export Controls for Conventional Arms and Dual-Use Technologies (WA), only one day after the European Union's strongly worded request that Ankara normalize its relations with the Greek Cypriot administration and not to reject its membership to international organizations and arrangements."
