"Cyprus warns it could block EU-Turkey talks

NICOSIA, Sept 13 (Reuters) - Cyprus upped the stakes in its demands for recognition from European Union candidate Turkey on Tuesday, warning it could block the start of Ankara's membership talks on Oct. 3.
Cyprus is locked in a bitter row with its EU partners over how to respond to Turkey's refusal to recognise the Greek Cypriot government in Nicosia, which represents the whole of the divided island in the 25-nation bloc."
