"Rehn: EU prepares assistance for Cyprus solution

The European Union is preparing to take steps to help with a solution on the divided island of Cyprus, the union's official in charge of enlargement said yesterday.
The EU Commission proposed a set of measures last year to help end the international isolation of the Turkish Cypriots after they voted in favor of a U.N. plan aimed at reunification of the island. But with EU member Greek Cyprus blocking them, none of the measures have so far been implemented."
