"Turkish Cartoonist Wins Gold Medal in US

Turkish cartoonist Necdet Yilmaz has been awarded a gold medal by the American Society of Illustrators in a contest held as part of an exhbition.
Reportedly, Yilmaz will receive his award on Friday night at a ceremony to be held at the Amercan Illustration Museum.
The exhibit in which world renowned artists exhibit their masterpieces, will be open to visitors from April 9 to May 7.
Yilmaz previously won a silver medal in the Aydin Dogan Cartoon Contest in 2004 with this same work and he revealed that this artistic impression was inspired by the Iraq War.
Yilmaz also won the first Society of Artists Agents Illustration Awards in 2003. "
